Eurovision 2027 in Burgas: Getting There, Where to Stay and Staying Connected

After Bulgaria's win, the 71st Eurovision Song Contest comes to Burgas, on the country's Black Sea coast. It is the first time Bulgaria has hosted the contest.

All three shows are at Arena Burgas. Rehearsals and preview shows run through the week and are often ticketed too. Watch the official Eurovision channels for ticket sales.

Getting to Burgas

• Burgas Airport (BOJ) is just outside the city. Expect extra flights and charters for Eurovision week, and book early.
• Sofia Airport has the most international connections, but Sofia is on the other side of the country, several hours by road or train.
• Varna Airport is a couple of hours up the coast.

Where to stay

Burgas is a mid-sized city, and Eurovision week will fill it. If the city is booked out, the Black Sea resorts nearby are good options:

• Sunny Beach and Nessebar to the north. Nessebar's old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Sozopol to the south, with its own historic old town.

Check transport times to the arena before you book, especially for late-night returns after the shows.

Between the shows

• The Sea Garden: Burgas's seafront park, beach and pier
• Nessebar Old Town: ancient churches and wooden houses on a peninsula
• Sozopol: an old town on the sea
• The fan zone: host cities usually run a Eurovision Village with free concerts and screenings. Watch for announcements.

Bulgaria adopted the euro in January 2026, so there's no currency exchange for travellers from the eurozone.

Staying connected for Eurovision week

Making a trip of it

Burgas is close to Istanbul and northern Greece, and plenty of fans will combine Eurovision with a few days of travel. Add them to the same plan: Bulgaria + Turkey, or add Greece when you buy. A multi-country plan costs the same as the most expensive country in it.
