How to Add the HOAM eSIM Connector to Claude

Claude can read HOAM's live catalogue once you connect it. Ask about a trip and you get real prices for the countries you named, the networks you'll roam onto, and a link to buy the plan you picked — without leaving the conversation.

Setup is one address, pasted once. There is nothing to sign into.

Add it

1. Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector.
3. Paste this address:

4. Save, then start a new conversation — an existing chat won't pick up a connector added mid-way.

That's the whole setup. No account, no API key, no password: the connector serves public catalogue information, so there is nothing to authorise.

One thing that catches people out: don't open that address in a browser to test it. It isn't a web page — it answers Claude, not a browser, so you'll get a bare error and think something is wrong. Paste it into the connector field and test it by asking Claude a question instead.

Check that it worked

Ask something only the catalogue can answer:

"Using HOAM, what would an eSIM cost for Spain and Portugal for ten days?"

You should see Claude call the connector, then come back with the data sizes actually available for that pair and a price for each. If it answers without calling anything, the connector isn't attached to that conversation — start a fresh one.

What it looks like

For a pricing question, Claude renders the plans as an interactive card rather than a wall of text: each data size with its price, the recommended size marked, and a Buy button that opens the HOAM checkout with that plan already selected.

The card is the connector's own, so what you see is what the catalogue returned — not Claude's summary of it.

Prompts worth trying

Price a real trip, not a country.

"I'm in Greece and Italy for two weeks in October. What HOAM plan should I get, and how much data do I need?"

This is where a dynamic eSIM earns its keep: both destinations get priced as one plan. Claude will suggest a size and say why it suits the trip you described.

Ask what you'll actually connect to.

"Which mobile networks will my HOAM eSIM use in Japan, and what do people usually add to a Japan trip?"

Coverage rather than cost — the carrier networks the eSIM roams onto, plus the destinations travellers commonly pair with it.

Ask how the product works.

"With HOAM, when does my validity period start — when I buy, or when I land?"

This comes from HOAM's help centre rather than from Claude's general knowledge of eSIMs, which matters because providers genuinely differ here.

Let it plan the whole thing.

"Two weeks: Athens, three islands, then Rome. Sort out my data."

The connector is at its best when the itinerary is messy, because naming the countries you're actually visiting prices better than reaching for a regional bundle.

If it doesn't appear

No "Add custom connector" option. Custom connectors aren't available on every Claude plan, and which plans include them is set by Anthropic rather than by us. If the option isn't in your settings, that's why.

Added, but Claude ignores it. Start a new conversation. Connectors attach when a chat begins.

Claude quotes a price but never calls the connector. It's answering from memory, and it will sometimes invent a data size we don't sell. Ask it directly to check with the HOAM connector, or start a new chat.
