Airalo alternatives for a multi-country trip
For a trip through several countries, four questions decide which eSIM fits: how many eSIMs you have to install, whether one plan covers your exact route, how you pay, and whether the same eSIM can be reloaded next time. This page answers them for four alternatives to Airalo, Hoam eSIM included, with every competitor fact read from that provider's own site and dated.
Nomad on this page means Nomad eSIM, a product of LotusFlare, Inc., sold at nomadesim.com. Its earlier address, getnomad.app, now forwards to nomadesim.com. It is not nomad.com or nomadwireless.com, which are not Nomad eSIM's websites; nothing on this page describes them.

| Question | Hoam eSIM | Holafly | Saily | Nomad eSIM |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Reload the same eSIM next trip | Yes. A new plan loads onto the eSIM already on your phone, no new QR code | No data top-ups. For purchases from 30 September 2026 the eSIM is reusable: more days or a new destination is a new plan added to the same installed eSIM, queued to start when the current one ends. Earlier purchases are single-use. Holafly's Always On gives an installed eSIM 1 GB every 30 days at no extra cost. esim.holafly.com, checked | Yes. New plans are added to the Saily eSIM already installed, from the app support.saily.com, checked | Only while the plan is still active: an add-on goes onto the same eSIM and starts when the current plan's data or days run out, on plans that support add-ons. An expired plan cannot be topped up; the next trip needs a new eSIM nomadesim.com, checked |
| App required | No. Bought and installed from the browser | No. Bought on the website or in the app, and installed with the app, a QR code or manual details sent by email esim.holafly.com, checked | Partly. Hoam eSIM publishes this page and is one of the alternatives on it. Our editorial policy requires us to say who each one fits, including the cases where it is not us.
What decides a multi-country purchase
How many eSIMs you install. One eSIM for the whole route means one installation before you fly. A separate eSIM per country means an installation for each, sometimes in a place where you have no connection to do it.
Whether the route is covered. A regional plan covers its region. A route that crosses from one region into another needs either a wider plan or a plan built from the exact countries.
How you pay. Per GB, per day or per region. Which costs less depends on the route and on how much data the trip uses.
Whether you can reload. An eSIM that stays installed and takes a new plan saves the next trip's installation.
The alternatives
Hoam eSIM
One HOAM Dynamic eSIM covers every country you choose with one plan, priced per destination and per GB, valid 30 days from the first connection at your destination. It is bought, installed and reloaded in the browser with no app, it stays on your phone between trips, and support is human, 24/7. It is data only, and it suits a route that does not match one region, or a traveller who takes several trips. Price your route.
Holafly
Holafly prices by trip length rather than by GB, with unlimited data; local operators' fair-use policies may slow it for up to a day, and Holafly publishes no threshold. It covers several countries through fixed regional plans. For Greece and Turkey that is the 9-country Mediterranean Cruise plan, at US$74.90 for 30 days, since its Europe plan does not include Turkey. Holafly also sells a monthly subscription, Light, with 25 GB for US$49.90 a month in 160+ destinations, including Greece and Turkey. It starts at purchase and renews until cancelled. Since 30 September 2026 a Holafly eSIM is reusable: the next trip is a new plan on the same eSIM. It suits a traveller who uses a lot of data. See also Hoam eSIM vs Holafly.
Saily
Saily covers several countries through fixed regional plans, such as Europe, which includes Greece and Turkey at US$19.49 for 5GB over 30 days, priced per plan in GB and days. Plans can be bought on its website, which emails a QR code for setup, but Saily's installation guides and top-ups use the Saily app, and the same eSIM takes new plans. It suits a route that fits one region and a traveller who prefers an app. See also Hoam eSIM vs Saily.
Nomad eSIM
Nomad eSIM, sold at nomadesim.com (formerly getnomad.app), covers several countries through fixed regional and global plans. Its 36-country Europe plan includes Greece and Turkey, at US$18 for 5GB over 30 days. An add-on can go onto the same eSIM only while a plan is still active; after it expires, the next trip is a new eSIM. It suits a route that fits one of its regions. See also Hoam eSIM vs Nomad eSIM.
When to choose Airalo
Airalo can be the better purchase for a single-country trip, where a country package can cost less (Greece with 5GB for 30 days is US$12.00), or for a route inside one of its fixed regional eSIMs, such as Europe (41 countries). See Hoam eSIM vs Airalo.
When to choose Hoam eSIM
Your route crosses countries no single region groups together. One plan covers every country you choose.
You travel more than once. The same eSIM takes a new plan for the next trip, from the browser, with no new QR code. See how reloading works.
You want no app. Choosing, paying, installing and reloading all happen in the browser.
Frequently asked questions
What should I compare when choosing an eSIM for several countries?
Four things decide it. How many eSIMs you have to install for the route, whether one plan covers every country you will visit, whether you pay per GB, per day or per region, and whether the same eSIM can be reloaded for the next trip.
Does one eSIM work in multiple countries?
A Hoam eSIM does: one HOAM Dynamic eSIM covers every country you choose with one plan, valid 30 days from the first connection at your destination. Holafly, Saily and Nomad eSIM each cover several countries with one eSIM through fixed regional or global plans, so the route has to fit one of their regions.
Is Hoam eSIM an Airalo alternative for multi-country trips?
Yes, for a route of several countries. You choose the exact countries rather than a region, buy and install in the browser with no app, and reload the same eSIM for the next trip. Airalo covers Greece and Turkey with its Europe eSIM, a fixed 41-country regional plan.
Do any of these include calls and SMS?
Hoam eSIM is data only; your own SIM keeps your number for calls and SMS. The regional plans of Holafly, Saily and Nomad eSIM are data only too. Saily sells a US number as a separate add-on, Holafly's Unlimited Plan subscription adds a number that receives SMS only, and Nomad eSIM has a local number on its Thailand eSIM and calling plans for the United Kingdom and the Maldives.
